HAPPY LEARNING. WHY DO YOU WISH TO LEARN MANDARIN? I offer lessons in person, or LIVE on-line by WhatsApp Video face-to-face. If you are an Absolute Beginner, you WILL be able to UNDERSTAND and SPEAK Mandarin (or Putonghua) passably in SIX MONTHS, and comfortably in TWELVE MONTHS. This speed of progress means 2 lessons X 2 hours = 4 hours per week. You can CHOOSE to go slower and have only 1 lesson of 2 hours per week. I will teach you 90% in Mandarin and you WILL BE ABLE to respond and start conversing with me 90% in Mandarin from DAY ONE. Think how toddlers acquire language when they cannot even read! You will learn by first listening, then repeating after me and then speaking. By a repetitive PROCESS of 90% immersion, I will also ask you questions in Mandarin, you WILL be able to understand them, and you WILL be able to answer them in Mandarin, from Day One. From you, CURIOSITY, ENJOYMENT and CONSTANT EFFORT will bring amazing results. We will use materials compiled by me (copyrighted) for beginners. You will NOT be learning by rote from conversation scenarios, such as "meeting and greeting", “at the airport”, “at the restaurant”, “asking for road directions” and such like. We will NOT be learning “survival Mandarin”. LISTENING is first, SPEAKING is second, and READING my materials (given in Romanized alphabets or Pinyin, with English and Chinese) is an added supplement which toddlers can’t use!! Have you wondered how it is that many Chinese Malaysians and other overseas Chinese can speak Chinese dialects fluently without being able to read Chinese? You will also learn Pinyin from my chart. You can record my reading aloud with your smart-phone. You will acquire the commonly used vocabulary in DAILY conversation applicable in MULTIPLE scenarios. At 2 lessons per week and an average of 20 new WORDS per lesson, you will be immersed in and be totally familiar with an ESSENTIAL vocabulary of 960 words in SIX MONTHS, and 2,000 words in TWELVE MONTHS. This is a fantastic number because CONVERSANT practical Chinese for social and business purposes needs only 2,500 TO 3,000 words in total.
